The State of Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs recently launched a series of 3 short web videos about Paul R. Williams’ architectural contributions to their state. Williams is usually associated with California, but as these videos illustrate Nevada has many excellent examples of his work. The videos highlight the La Concha Motel in Las Vegas now located at the Neon Museum and in Reno the Lear Theater (originally the First Church of Christ, Scientist), Loomis Manor Apartments, the Garvey Residence, Rancho San Rafael, and the El Reno Apartments. Williams was a pioneer in the use of metal prefab housing materials found in the original El Reno complex. A well-preserved unit is highlighted with an interior tour.
