The modern headquarters for Competition Motors was built for Johnny von Neumann on a 13.5-acre tract in Culver City in 1961. This Paul R. Williams' design replaced the motor company’s much smaller home in North Hollywood. Though the VW logo was prominent in the design, von Neumann was a full-fledged Porsche dealer catering to the growing number of sports car enthusiasts in the Los Angeles area. Williams’ sleek style was the perfect environment for von Neumann’s sales force to demonstrate the superiority of the light, agile and well-built Porsche.
